In 2005, Chhango became the first registered Nepali company to specialize in canyoning and other extreme sports. Whether you’re booking an afternoon adventure or a weeklong adrenaline rush, Chhango will have you rappelling down rushing waterfalls, cycling through lush forests, and scrambling up steep cliff faces throughout the northern hills of Kathmandu.

Our headquarters, located just 15k from Kathmandu, sits at the northwest entrance to Shivapuri-Nagarjun National Park. The park links the hills of Kathmandu with Sindhupalchowk, Nuwakot, and Dhading districts, and encompassed an estimated 159 square kilometers when it was designated as a national park in 2008. It remains the only officially conserved and protected area connected to the capital city of Kathmandu.

In addition to its spectacular geography, the park is home to millions of species of animals. Among the hundreds of species of birds and butterflies, you may be lucky enough to see a leopard, a mongoose, or even a wild boar.

You may notice that Chhango’s prices are slightly higher than our competitors. That is because at Chhango, we take your safety seriously. We are committed to providing our clients the best possible experience of Nepal’s extreme sports scene, and that includes attention to current safety standards. Our guides are all licensed in their fields, and our head guide has over 20 years of experience in rock climbing and canyoning, and has also spent years an emergency search and rescue operative in the Himalayas.
